Building Blocks, a leading provider of data science and machine learning solutions for retail and insurance companies, has been included in the list of "Representative Vendors" in the October 2017 Market Guide for Data Science and Machine Learning Service Providers report by Gartner, Inc.
"We consider our inclusion in the Market Guide by Gartner as confirmation we are heading in the right direction towards our mission to become a European market leader in the field of consumer predictions by applying data science and machine learning techniques. Moreover, we view this recognition as a proof to our hard work. We are the only Dutch company included in the list," said Alexander van Eerden, CEO of Building Blocks. "We continue to innovate while we execute on our product roadmap. With our truly innovative block approach for scalable data science solutions, we will deliver a revolutionary product that will change the retail and insurance industries and further enhance our market position."
Machine learning market is shifting from consultancy to platform
According to Alexander van Eerden, the data science and machine learning market is changing rapidly, from a more traditional consultancy approach to advanced platforms in which complex models and algorithms run in the background of every business. This shift is due to the fact that talent with the skills able to execute these complex techniques are extremely scarce, and companies are looking for more scalable solutions to embed data science in their business. In the near future applying predictive analytics will be necessary for gaining competitive edge.
According to the Gartner report, "data and analytics leaders looking for support for their data science and machine learning projects should use this research to identify and engage with candidate service providers to fill the analytics deficit and augment their existing data scientists with specific skills."
